Marta KOSTIUK: “It’s not nice to lose to rivals from Russia and Belarus”
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk appreciated the victory in the first round of the tournament in Guadalajara, where the athlete defeated the Belarusian representative Alexandra Sasnovich.
“How to play with representatives of Belarus and Russia? Sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes it’s easier. It’s always different. I’m trying to focus my attention on something else, not on who it is. Frankly, it’s better when I win these matches, because more often I lose to these players. Unpleasant sensations. It’s not nice to lose in general, but in these special matches you always want to win.
“I feel responsible, I want to win for my country and all this. In general, everything is fine. I just try to think of other things,” said Kostyuk.
After the match, Martha did not shake hands with her opponent.
