(Paris) The Polish Iga Swiatek further consolidates her place at the top of the WTA ranking published on Monday, after her victory on Sunday against the Croatian Donna Vekic in the final of the WTA 500 tournament in San Diego.
After her surprise defeat in the final of the Ostrava tournament two weeks ago, the world’s leading player resumed her march forward while her unfortunate opponent, from qualifying, still jumped 30 places to glean the 47e WTA ranking position.
The Tunisian Ons Jabeur and the Estonian Anett Kontaveit remain N.2 and N.3 in the world.
The Spaniard Paula Badosa drops in the standings from 4e at the 8e place in the world following her loss in the quarter-finals in San Diego to American Danielle Collins, who moved up three places, to 16e world rank.
