Former world number 1 suspended from tennis for positive doping test
Star Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has tested positive for doping. During the US Open-2022, the banned drug roxadustat, used to treat anemia, was detected in his body.
Aleppo has been temporarily suspended from tennis while the incident is being investigated. He requested an autopsy of the B sample. Deciding to end the season early due to previous nose surgery, Aleppo has not played since the US Open in August.
Aleppo, 31, is an old world No. 1 and 2 times Grand Slam champion. He won Roland Garros 2018 and Wimbledon 2019. The tennis player has already stated that he does not participate in the accusations and will fight in the field of law.
