Simona Halep, number 9 in the world and winner of two Grand Slams, was caught doping. He had tested positive at the US OPEN this year.

Simona Halep (world no. 9) was drugged, resulting in her being banned from all sporting activities.

The 31-year-old Romanian tennis player, who has won two Grand Slams and has a past No. 1 ranking, tested positive for illegal substances at the US OPEN last month.

Halep had announced that she would not be competing until the end of the season to undergo rhinoplasty to improve her breathing.

The International Tennis Integrity Organization (ITIA) announced that the illegal substance roxadustat was found in her body.

Halep had requested her re-examination, but the illegal substance was also discovered in the second.
