The semi-finals of the tough tournament of the ATP series took place on October 22 in Naples (Italy).

Italy’s second racket Matteo Berrettini (ATP 16) defeated Mackenzie McDonald (USA, ATP 74) in three sets. The Italian will make his fourth final of the season and play hard in the singles final for the first time in his career (he reached the ATP Cup final in Australia last year with the Italian team). This year Berrettini won turf tournament titles in London and Stuttgart and lost the decisive match on clay at Gstaad. In total, the former sixth racket of the world will play in the 12th final and fight for the eighth championship.

Lorenzo Musetti (ATP 24, Italy 24) defeated Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia, ATP 30) in two matches. The Italian player will play in the final of the ATP tournament for the second time in his career. Earlier this season, the 20-year-old Italian won the ATP 500 clay title in Hamburg, beating Carlos Alcaraz in the final. A victory in the final will bring Lorenzo Musetti’s personal best performance up one spot in the standings to 23rd place.

Note that this is the first time Matteo and Lorenzo will be playing against each other.
