The Canadian had also reached the semifinals of the Rotterdam tournament in 2020. He had lowered the flag in the final against the Frenchman Gaël Monfils in two sets. In 2021, he bowed to Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the first round.
In the other semifinal, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, favorite of the event, will cross his swords with the Czech Jiri Lehecka, 137th racket in the world.
This is the second time Auger-Aliassime has beaten Norrie in the young 2022 season. He also defeated him in two sets during the ATP Cup.
