Sakkari: Ranked 4th in the world after her run at the Guadalajara Open, she’s aiming for a record
Maria Sakkari won two places in the world rankings with her run at the Guadalajara Open and is fourth on Monday (October 24th).
Maria Sakkari’s excellent run at the Guadalajara Open ended in the finals when Jessica Pegula was the one to win the title.
The 27-year-old Greek may not have managed to claim the second title of her career, but she will leave Mexico many times.
In the world rankings, Sakkari secured a two-spot climb and from last week’s 6th place it will now be 4th.
With the year ending, Shaq has a chance to end it in the best position he’s ever had in a season finale.
Overall, Sakkari has finished 3rd, but has never finished above 6th in the season’s final rankings, setting a new career record this year.
