Medvedev qualified for the ATP Finals
Former world number one Russian Daniil Medvedev has qualified for the Final Tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Italy, the press service of the organization reports.
On Saturday, the Russian tennis player defeated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals of the tournament in Vienna – 6:4, 6:2.
Medvedev is 26 years old, he ranks fourth in the ATP rankings. The Russian qualified for the ATP Final Tournament for the fourth time in a row, in 2020 he became the winner of the competition.
This season, Medvedev won one title in singles – at a tournament in Los Cabos, Mexico.
The final ATP tournament in 2022 will be held in Turin from 13 to 20 November. The eight best tennis players and couples at the end of the season take part in the tournament. Previously, Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaras, Norwegian Kasper Ruud, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and Serb Novak Djokovic secured the right to participate in the tournament.
