Kasatkina and Gauff started with losses at the Final Tournament
Daria Kasatkina lost in her opening match of the WTA Finals. The Russian tennis player lost to Iga Sventek from Poland in two sets.
The match lasted 1 hour 23 minutes, during which Kasatkina gave up three games on her serve.
It was their sixth full-time match in their career, five of which were won by the Polish tennis player. Kasatkina’s only victory over Shventek occurred in June 2021 at a tournament in Eastbourne.
In another match of this group, Caroline Garcia (France) defeated Corey Gauff (USA).
In the next match, Kasatkina will meet with Garcia, Shventek – with Gauff.
