The WTA Finals day three schedule has been announced, with Sakkari’s match against Sabalenka not starting until 2am. from Thursday (11.03.).
The winners of the first two group games of the WTA Finals will meet in the second round on Wednesday evening in Texas.
Maria Sakkari (No. 5) and Arina Sambalenka (No. 7) enter the court third and their match does not start until 2am. from Thursday (March 11th, NOVASPORTS 6).
The two prevailed in the first round against Jessica Pegula and Ons Zambe respectively and whoever wins has qualified for the semi-finals.
This is the seventh time Maria Sakkari has faced Arina Sambalenka. The athlete from Belarus has won four times, the 27-year-old Greek twice.
The impressive stats of their matches is that Sakkari prevailed in the first and last of them. In fact, the latest is last year’s WTA Finals fight.
