On the night of Thursday (November 3rd), Maria Sakkari made it to the semi-finals of the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, USA, with an impressive performance and a fantastic 2-0 (6:2, 6:4) win. Arina Sabalenka.

The Greek tennis player, world No. 5, was great in the first set, dominating against the Belarusian athlete, world No. 7. Leading 3-0 in the second set, she found herself trailing 3-4, winning the next two games and upsetting her opponent, securing her place in the semi-final stage of the tournament.


It was the in-form Sakkari’s third win in seven games against Sabalenka, a 24-year-old tennis player who has risen by leaps and bounds to become one of the best players in the world in recent years.
