Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit, winner of the St. Petersburg tournament on Sunday, won three places to reach 6th place in the WTA rankings on Monday – the best of her career – where Australian Ashleigh Barty still dominates.
There was no change in the top five, with Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka, Czech Barbora Krejcíková and Karolína Plíšková and Spain’s Paula Badosa following Barty.
The rise of Kontaveit is to the detriment of the Spaniard Garbiñe Muguruza (7th), the Greek Maria Sakkari (8th) and the Polish Iga Swiatek (9th), who each lose one place.
Tunisian Ons Jabeur closes the Top 10.
Also note the ascents of the British Emma Raducanu (+1, 12th), the Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (+1, 13th) and the American Jessica Pegula (+2, 14th).
Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina, ill and lost in the round of 16 in St. Petersburg, dropped four places and is now 16th.
