Maria Sakkari defeated Ons Zambert 2:0 (6:2, 6:3) in excellent condition and, with the numbers 2, 3, 7 in the world, made it into the semi-finals of the WTA Finals in three matches without losing a set.

Maria Sakkari, in excellent form, played great tennis against Ons Zambert in the early hours of Saturday (5/11) at the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, USA. She won her sets 2-0 (6-2, 6-3), defying predictions that she was an underdog and unconcerned as she had already qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament as the top of her group.

Sakkari finished the group with three wins and 6-0 sets overall against Pegula (world No. 3), Champalenka (No. 7) and Zamper (No. 2). The Greek tennis player is in amazing shape both physically and mentally, and from the moment she won the first set to knock her opponent out of the semifinals (Jamber needed a 2-0 win, Sampalenka eventually qualified as runners-up), It was easier for her to achieve victory.

With this result, Sakkari and Zamper have a 2:2 record in their games. The semi-finals will take place on Sunday evening (6/11) at 21:30 and in the early hours of Monday (7/11) at 03:00, while the final will take place in the early hours of Tuesday (8/11). Sakkari plays against the winner of the match between Caroline Garcia (number 6) and Daria Kasatkina (number 8), which takes place on Saturday afternoon. First in the other group is Iga Sfiodek, whom Maria can face in the final.
