Alkarath received the award as No. 1 in the world rankings
Carlos Alcarath was in Turin where he received the special award for finishing the year at No. 1 in the world rankings.
Carlos Alcarath received the award for first place in the world rankings at the ATP Finals in Turin on Wednesday evening (November 16th).
The 19-year-old Spaniard made career history once again as year-ending number 1 ‘unlocked’ another great achievement: becoming the youngest tennis player ever to finish a year as world number 1!
At the age of 19 years and 6 months, the recent US Open champion “broke” the record set by Lleyton Hewitt, who had placed 1st in 2001 at the age of 20 years and 10 months.
