Novak Djokovic prevailed 2-0 in a close match against Taylor Fritz and advanced to the final of the ATP Finals.
Novak Djokovic needed to play great tennis in the crucial moments of his semi-final in Turin to overcome resistance from Taylor Fritz and reach the 130th ATP final of his impressive career.

After an hour and 53 minutes of fighting, Djokovic prevailed 7-6(5), 7-6(6) thanks to two very demanding tiebreaks and celebrated qualifying for his 8th final at the ATP Finals and 1st since 2018.
In 2020 he lost to Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals and in 2021 he was placed in the “4” of the institution alongside Alexander Zverev. This year, however, he didn’t let Fritz get him down and this week in Italy he celebrated his 4th consecutive win, cementing his ticket to his 7th season finale.
This year, however, he didn’t let Fritz get him down and this week in Italy he celebrated his 4th consecutive win, cementing his ticket to his 7th season finale. Fritz hit 31 winners, including 15 aces, pushing Nole to the limit, who needed to show mental toughness at the end of each set to qualify.
Nole finished the match with 21 winners and 19 unforced errors, winning 54/76 points behind serve. Both gladiators were counting break points won from 2/2 and were led to two tie breaks where the tennis level reached…a ceiling.
Both played great points, with the Serb, holder of 21 Grand Slam titles, utilizing his 2nd match point and completing his very difficult challenge.
