(Paris) Australia is the first team to have qualified for the semi-finals of the final phase of the Davis Cup of tennis by dominating the Netherlands 2-0 in the quarter-finals, Tuesday in Malaga (Spain) .
For a place in the final, Australia captain Lleyton Hewitt will face either Spain or outgoing runners-up Croatia on Wednesday afternoon.
In the two singles, first Jordan Thompson, then leader Alex de Minaur, fell a set behind but the two Australians got away with each battling over two and a half hours.
The double scheduled in the third match, now without stake, will not be played, announced the organizers.
