A PHOTO. SVITOLINA: “The happiest and most tragic year of my life”
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina summarized the results of the year, and also talked about the annual gala dinner of the traditional charity, during which they raise funds to help Ukrainians not freeze.
“This year has been the happiest and most tragic at the same time for me. War broke out in Ukraine when Gael and I found out I was pregnant. Even now I can’t describe all my feelings at that moment. I was in incredible pain. I felt powerless because I couldn’t stop this terrible war.” But I decided to take action.
On December 2, we held the third charity night. On it, we managed to raise more than € 240,000 for the Elina Svetolina Charitable Foundation and the United24 program, launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. That’s why I want to thank my dear friends, guests and partners!
It doesn’t matter what the future holds for us. We will continue to do our best for Ukraine and our young talents. Glory to Ukraine!” Svitolina wrote on Instagram.
