Sakkari is No. 6 in the Australian Open, Halep is off the entry list
These are the entry lists for the women’s draw at the Australian Open. Halep is missing, Sakkari is at #6.
The Australian Open women’s singles entry lists have been officially announced by the organizers, with 2018 finalist Simona Halep absent as nothing was resolved in the doping scandal as the Romanian tested positive for a banned substance last year.
From there, Maria Sakkari was placed 6th for the first time in her career in this particular Slam. Poland’s Iga Swiatek is 1st, while at the bottom of the table is Tunisian Ons Zambert, who is 2nd.
At No. 3 is American Jessica Pegula, at No. 4 is French Caroline Garcia, and at No. 5 is Belarusian Arina Champalenka. Below Sakkari and in 7th is American Goff, while the top 10 is completed by Daria Kasatkina (Russia), Veronika Kundermetova (Russia) and Madison Keys (USA).
The Australian Open will take place in Melbourne from January 16th to 29th.
