A PHOTO. A German tennis player paints the Russian flag in Saudi Arabia
On Friday, December 9, a doubles match took place between Alexander Zverev (Germany) / Dominic Thiem (Austria) – Matteo Berrettini (Italy) / Andrey Rublev at an exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia.
The match ended with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (7:3) in favor of Matteo and Andrey, but the focus was not on the result, but on an incident experienced by the organizers. The problem is that the organizers Added Russian flag to Alexander Zverev on the scoreboard where the score is kept.
Interestingly, Alexander Zverev’s father is a former Russian tennis player. But Alexander himself was born and spent his whole life in Germany.
By the way, there is one more oddity in this photo – Dominic Thiem, who was Austrian, for some reason turned out to be Italian.
