Stefanos Tsitsipas began duties in Abu Dhabi with a right hand, beating Cameron Norrie 6-1, 6-4 in 74 minutes to qualify for Saturday’s semifinals where he will face Casper Rudd.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was outstanding from serve position, conceding just 5 points in the 1st and as many in the 2nd while wiping out the only threat from Nori, who won with 61% of the points in the 1st serve and just 39% in the 2nd could wait some more in the showdown.

The 1st set was essentially decided in the 2nd game in which Tsitsipas grabbed the break after four break points, Nori later reduced it to 3-1 by holding a break point and Tsitsipas won the next three games from there making it the 6th -1.

Nori improved his serve in the second leg, but Tsitsipas found a break at the crucial point, took a 5-4 lead and completed the win a little later with his serve.

Tsitsipas meets Casper Rudd in Saturday’s semifinals, while Norry will meet the loser of the next clash when Andrei Rublev plays Borna Coric.
