Tsitsipas shouted “molon lave” before the United Cup.
The message of Stefanos Tsitsipas on Instagram before the participation of the Greek team in the new, ambitious tennis project.
Seven days separate us from the first edition of the United Cup, a new event that is a bet for the ATP and the WTA. This is a national team tournament for men and women with ATP/WTA points and a total purse of 15 million dollars!
18 teams will compete against each other from December 29 to January 8, 2023 in three different Australian cities (Sydney, Perth, Brisbane).
Greece are in Group A along with Bulgaria and Belgium. Matches will be played in Perth, with Tsitsipas opening the curtain against Dimitrov on December 29 at the RAC Arena.
Stefanos Tsitsipas wanted to boost the morale of the Greek fans in Australia by inviting them to support the team consisting of Michalis Pervolarakis, Petros Tsitsipas, Michalis Sakellaridis, Maria Sakkari, Despina Papamichail, Valentini Grammatikopoulou and Sappho Sakellaridis.
Tsitsipas said goodbye to Instagram with the famous phrase from Leonidas “Molon Lave”:
“It’s great to hear you’re excited and ready to support Greece in the United Cup. It’s a big tournament featuring the best in the world so it’s sure to be a great and competitive event.

Wear team colors and looks. This will create a sense of unity and solidarity between fans and players
Cheer on your team in the games. Whether you’re watching the games live or watching from home, make sure you show your support and encourage your team.

Rybakina and Rublev beat the Vachereau/Schwentek duo in the World Tennis Continental Cup match in China

The Russian-Kazakh duo Andrey Rublev/Elena Rybakina beat the representative of Monaco, Valentin Vachereau and Iga Szwiatek from Poland in the World Tennis Continental Cup match, which takes place in Shenzhen (China).
The meeting ended with the victory of Rublev and Rybakina representing the world team – 6:4, 6:4. Team World beats Team Europe 5–4.
In the final match of the tournament, Andrei Rublev will meet with Italian Flavio Cobolli. The game will take place on Sunday, December 28 at 18:45 local time.
The tournament takes place December 26–28. The eight participants are divided into two teams: Team Europe and Team World. Each player will play two singles matches, and two doubles matches will also be played.
