United Cup: The groups and squads of the competitors
Time is running out for the first United Cup (29/12-08/01) to be held in Australia with the participation of the Greek team.
With the newly formed United Cup just around the corner, it’s a great opportunity to find out which countries will be competing in Australia from December 29th to January 8th and what their squads look like.
Our national team is in group A and will make their debut in Perth against Belgium and Bulgaria.
The pundits name Greece the big favorites to qualify from the group and the presence of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari plays a very important role in that.
Belgium’s David Govan and Elise Mertens and Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov are the main names the Greeks will encounter.
The Poles of Iga Sfiodek and Hubert Hurkacs are the favorites in Group B, with Switzerland obviously having Stanislas Wawrinka and Belinda Bencic in their ranks.
The United States, regarded as the absolute favorites to qualify from Group C, bring a team to Sydney for big: Fritz, Tiafoe, Pegula and Keys make up the strongest mixed team of four of the event!
Of course not Spain falling behind with Nadal, Carreno Busta and Bandosa, they are expected to claim a major accolade starting with the demanding Group D which includes Cameron Norries Great Britain and Nick Kyrgios Australia.
The Italians, led by Matteo Berrettini, are favorites to take first place in Group E, with Norway pinning all hopes on Kasper Rudd.
France, Croatia and Argentina will have a big fight in Group F as they predictably don’t fit into their fights.
