Tsitsipas says goodbye to Pele: ‘I wanted to thank him for everything he has done for football, he will never be forgotten’
Stefanos Tsitsipas personally said goodbye to the king of football, Pele, and said goodbye to him with a lengthy post, referring among other things to what his grandfather had told him about him.
Soccer legend Pele hasn’t been with us for the past 24 hours. Football is in mourning and the sports world doesn’t stop saying goodbye to the legend of Brazil.
Stefanos Tsitsipas bid farewell to King Pele with a long post, Among other things, he was referring to what his grandfather had told him about him, since he had been his opponent at the Melbourne Olympics.
“Even though I was born in 1998 and never had the opportunity to see Pele play, I’ve always been a huge fan of his. His talent and ability on the pitch were truly legendary and his sensational play made him an icon on the pitch around the world. I’ve always been fascinated by his story and his impact on the sport of football and one of my few dreams has always been to meet him in person and thank him for everything he’s done for football.
My grandfather, who was lucky enough to face Pele at the Melbourne Olympics, always spoke highly of him. He said that Pele truly represented the sport and that his combination of skill, talent and athleticism was unmatched by any other player of his time. He said it was an honor to compete against such a great athlete and that he always played with class and dignity.
To me, Pele represents everything that is great about the sport. His love of the game and beautiful soul will never be forgotten, and he will always hold a special place in the hearts of those lucky enough to experience his talent firsthand. His legacy will inspire athletes and fans for generations to come, and his impact on the game of football will never be forgotten.”.
