Who will win the 2023 Australian Open women’s singles?

January 9 kicks off the qualifying phase for the Australian Open 2023, the 111th draw of the first of four Grand Slam tournaments, opening a series of prestigious events of the WTA’s 50th anniversary season. Women’s tennis has always been roulette. Will the championship bring surprises this time? We will find out on January 29, 2023. Already on GGBET you can test your intuition and try to make money by choosing the winner of the tournament.

Top contenders for the women’s singles title

Favorites of Australian Open tennis titled athletes include:

  1. Iga Sventek.
  2. Simon Aleppo.
  3. Naomi Osaka.
  4. Arina Sobolenko.
  5. Corey Gauff.

The Iga Sventek is the world’s first racket in the updated WTA ranking. He has experience winning Grand Slam tournaments, but the toughness of the Australian Open tennis championship has yet to yield to him. Such an award in the treasury of Sventek trophies will not be superfluous, especially since he was the champion in three of them, but so far only junior Wimbledon (2018). Polka was the big favorite at the 2022 US Open and won. Now the athlete is at the peak of his form, so his victory is unlikely to surprise anyone.

Despite her own scores at the Australian Open, Simona Halep has less chance of winning a Slam. Although he was one step away from the championship in 2018, he never managed to win. The former world’s first racket, although currently in the top ten, has dropped slightly compared to the victorious 2017 and 2018. Simona prefers none of the surfaces that play strongly and professionally. She knows how to surprise and wins at all costs, so it’s too early to fire the athlete.

Naomi Osaka knows the taste of victory, she became the champion of all Slams, including the Australian Open 2021. The Japanese woman has a wealth of experience, but the current 42nd place in the ranking does not speak in her favor. Who knows, maybe 2023, which started with a championship win in Australia, will be the best year of his career and will bring Osaka back to the title of the world’s first racket.

Arina Sobolenko won the 2021 Australian Open in women’s doubles. Despite losing the final of the Finals Tournament, the Belarusian had a good season overall in 2022 and finished fifth in the WTA rankings.

The youngest contender for victory is Corey Gauff, an American athlete who has already become a sensation in the tennis world. Although the girl showed good results in both singles and doubles, maybe we are in for another surprise from Coco. In his favor is not only experience and age, but also the desire to win.

It is unlikely that we will see Australian athletes among the winners this year, as we did with Ashleigh Barty in 2022. You should not hope for the final of Ukraine in women’s singles. 5 tennis players from our country were declared in the qualifying, and only one of them – Katerina Beindl – is in the top 100. We look forward to the tournament starting on January 16, 2023.
