Russian Veronika Kudermetova became the quarter-finalist of the tournament in Adelaide, beating Canadian Bianca Andreescu in straight sets – 6:4, 6:0.
In the first set, the Russian woman lost with a score of 0:4, but after that she did not lose a single game in both the first and second sets. In total, the Russians have two filings right through and not a single double fault.
The 25-year-old tennis player will play the winner of the pair Elena Ostapenko (Latvia) – Irina Begu (Romania) in the quarterfinals.
