Tsitsipas reached the quarterfinals in doubles at the Mexican Open in Acapulco
Stefanos Tsitsipas and his teammate Feliciano Lopez struggled, but eventually lost 2-0 (7-6 (7), 6-4) to Australians Luke Saville and John Patrick Smith, qualifying for the quarter-finals of the doubles Mexican Open.
The first move was made for Stefanos Tsitsipas and Feliciano Lopez in the Mexican Open doubles. The two tennis players were serious against Luke Saville and John Patrick Smith and won the quarter-finals with a 2-0 set (7: 6 (7), 6: 4).
The Greek champion and his teammate battled it out in the opening set that reached the tiebreak where they prevailed 9-7 to win it 7-6. The second set was easier, they won it 6-4 and qualified for the 8th round of the tournament with a 2-0 set.
In the next round, the duo of Tsitsipa and Lopez meets the winner of the match between Miguel Angel Reyes/McSur and Juan Sebastian Campbell/Robert Farah, with the latter being No. 2 on the board.
In the singles, Tsitsipas (No. 4 in the world) meets the Serb Laszlo Ntzere (No. 51 in the world) on Thursday night (February 23rd) Greek time.
