Tsitsipas: He can climb to second place in the world rankings through the United Cup
Stefanos Tsitsipas can even find himself at No. 2 in the world rankings next Monday using his points from the United Cup.
At the end of 2022, Stefanos Tsitsipas found himself in fourth place in the world rankings with little difference to Kasper Rudd and Rafael Nadal.
The early exit of Spain and Norway from the United Cup allows the Greek tennis player to overtake them both.
How can this happen? Stefanos Tsitsipas has +60 points with his course so far in the tournament compared to those he had to defend.
If he beats Matteo Berretini on Saturday morning, he’ll take another 105-5725 and move past Casper Rudd for third place.
Then everything will depend on two facts. Two things still need to be done for him to climb to number 2 in the world rankings.
- Greece reaches the final of the United Cup
- Defeating his opponent in singles match in the finals regardless of opponent.
If those two happen, Stefanos Tsitsipas will overtake Rafael Nadal and climb to second in the world rankings for the first time in his career.
