Jere – Tsitsipas 0-2: It was difficult but it qualified for the ’16’ of the tournament in Acapulco

Despite Laszlo Jere making it difficult for Stefanos Tsitsipas (world No. 4), the Greek tennis player qualified for the “16” at the Acapulco tournament, beating the Serbian (world No. 51) in sets 0-2 (6-7 , 6-7).

After the qualification of Stefanos Tsitsipas (No. 4 in the world) and Feliciano Lopez in the quarterfinals of the Mexican Open doubles, the Greek tennis player made the first step at the singles tournament in Acapulco, where he won 0:2 (6-). 7, 6-7) by the Serb Laszlo Jere (No. 51 in the world).

The match lasted 2 hours and 14 minutes and the first set was shocking. The game was extremely balanced, the Serb made it difficult for Tsitsipas with his good defense. In the tie-break that followed, Jere led 3-0, but the Greek tennis player with three consecutive points equalized 3-3 and ended up winning the first set.

In the second set Tsitsipas was in the lead and led first with 0-2 game and then 2-4, but Jere with love game and break in service from Stefanos balanced the game, did the 5-5. Tsitsipas made a significant break at the most crucial point, leading the second set to a tie-break which the Greek tennis player won and secured his presence in the next stage.

The Greek tennis player will face Jay Jay Wolf or Lorenzo Sonego in the “16” phase of the tournament.
