Zverev was sent off at the Acapulco tournament
The Acapulco tournament will continue without Alexander Zverev as the German was sent off for unacceptable behavior towards a referee.
The organizer has excluded Alexander Zverev (No. 3) from the Acapulco tournament. The German showed unacceptable behavior towards a referee with the result that the organizers ended his course in the tournament early. At the end of the match in doubles, Zverev, apparently against the referee’s decision, almost hit his racket at the feet of the chair referee, which caused a strong reaction from the audience.
“Due to unsportsmanlike behavior in doubles on Tuesday evening, Alexander Zverev was excluded from the Apulco tournament,” said the tournament announcement.
Zverev’s dismissal also partially affects Stefan σιitsipas’ schedule as Gojovτσiικ (who would face Zverev alone) advanced to the quarterfinals without a fight. Thus, the game of the Greeks against Wolf is not expected to start before 06:00 Greek time.
