Davis Cup: With Tsitsipas for the games against Ecuador in OAKA

EFOA announced the composition of the national tennis team that will face Ecuador for the Davis Cup (04-05/02), with Stefanos Tsitsipas normally being included.

With Stefanos Tsitsipas, the national tennis team will compete in the games against Ecuador for the Davis Cup, which will be held in OAKA (04-05/02).

This was announced by the tennis association, which announced the entire composition of the national team for the specific games.

The EFOA announcement in detail: “Leader of our national team Stefanos Tsitsipas, in his decisive game against the national team of Ecuador for promotion to GROUP 1 of the DAVIS CUP.

The full composition of our team, subject to change, according to ITF regulations, is as follows: Stefanos Tsitsipas, Michalis Pervolarakis, Petros Tsitsipas, Alexandros Skorilas, Aristotelis Thanos. Head of Mission Apostolos Tsitsipas and National Coach Dimitris Hatjinikolau.

Our national team is completed and supported by Dionysis Hissas Doctor, Christos Fiotakis Turner, Kostas Pergantis Psychologist, Apostolos Michalakas Physiotherapist, Thanasis Manekas Assistant Coach.

The meetup will be held on February 4th and 5th at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm respectively at the OAKA indoor basketball court.

The Greek tennis family and Greek fans are very interested in the meeting between our national team and the Ecuadorian national team in the first two days of ticket sales!

Member associations are invited to express their interest in EFOA for ticket bookings directly or indirectly through agencies of their choice. Reservations from member associations must be completed by Friday, January 20, 2022, in order to enable the payment and the timely receipt and dispatch of the tickets. After the date, tickets will only be purchased through them viva.gr”.

Four Ukrainian women will play doubles at the Australian Open 2026

Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.

Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.

Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.

Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.

Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.

Khachanov moved up one place in the ATP rankings

Russian Karen Khachanov moved from 18th to 17th place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.

The best among Russians remains Daniil Medvedev, located in 13th place, Andrei Rublev is 16th. There have been no changes in the top ten rankings: Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is in the lead, Italian Jannik Sinner is second, and German representative Alexander Zverev is in third.
