Australian Open: The opponents Tsitsipas and Sakkaris learn on Thursday morning
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari get to know their opponents at the Australian Open on Thursday morning (December 1, 6 a.m.).
The draw for this year’s Australian Open is expected to take place on Thursday (1.12.) at 06:00 a.m., where Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari will get to know their opponents for the 1st round as well as the possible path for their way to the first Grand Slam of the season .
Tsitsipas was placed 3rd in the table after Carlos Alcarat’s withdrawal, which means he evades Novak Djokovic in the first phase while waiting to see if he falls to the top of the table where Rafa Nadal (No. 1) is , or at the bottom of the table he will find Casper Rude (#2).
For her part, Maria Sakkari sits at No. 6 on the board, waiting to see if she fails against board No. 1 Iga Sfiodek, or if she is dragged to bottom where Tunisian Ons Zambert is the leader.
We remind you that for both men and women, the seeded players will be drawn against each other only in the 2nd round of the tournament.
The Australian Open takes place from January 16th to 29th.

Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.
Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.
Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.
Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.

Russian Karen Khachanov moved from 18th to 17th place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.
