Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev outmatched Austrian Dominic Thiem (6:3, 6:4, 6:2) in the first round of the Australian Open in terms of game strategy, says Andrey Olkhovsky, winner of two Grand Slam tournaments in mixed doubles.
– I’m not at all surprised that Rublev won so confidently. A very good start from Andrey. Previously, he also said that Andryukha was the favorite. According to the strategy of the game, he surpassed Tim.
I really liked that Andrei always played in the court. He now began to attack more, even more to the grid to go out. In a five-set fight, this is a very important factor, because you actually run a shorter distance. I liked the first match, – Olkhovsky said to the “Championship”.
In the second round, Rublev will play with the winner of the pair Max Purcell (Australia) – Emil Ruusuvuori (Finland).
