Reigning Australian Open winner Rafael Nadal has been eliminated from the tournament

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal lost to American Mackenzie McDonald in the second round of the Australian Open.

The match lasted 2 hours 26 minutes and ended with the score 6:4, 6:4, 7:5.

In the second set, Nadal took a medical timeout due to problems with his leg. Nadal has six aces and two double faults. He managed to convert two break points out of four. The American chalked up 14 innings right through and made a mistake twice on the pitch. He has five realized break-points out of eight.

In the third round of the tournament, McDonald will play the winner of the confrontation between Czech Dalibor Svrcina and Japan’s Yoshito Nishioka.

Nadal won the Australian Open last season.
