18-year-old Russia’s Diana Snyder (No. 106) won a set 2-0 against Koutsova and will be Maria Sakkari’s next opponent at the Australian Open.
Maria Sakkari’s next opponent became known in the second round of the Australian Open. This will be Diana Snyder, who beat Kutsova 2-0.
The 18-year-old Russian surprised with an excellent performance and qualified for the second round through the preliminary round. All this in her first participation in a Grand Slam main draw.
Of course, she hasn’t faced Maria Sakkari again while she’s ranked No. 105 in the world. The match between the two athletes is expected to take place on Wednesday (18 January).
