It became known how much Nadal will miss due to injury
The second racket of the world Spaniard Rafael Nadal was out for up to two months due to injury.
Nadal lost to American Mackenzie McDonald in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open in three sets. In the second set, the Spanish tennis player took a medical timeout due to problems with his leg.
“I underwent a medical examination after yesterday’s defeat. An MRI showed a grade 2 injury to the iliopsoas muscle of the left leg. I have to rest and anti-inflammatory physiotherapy. Usually the recovery time in such cases is from 6 to 8 weeks, 36-year-old Nadal wrote on his Twitter page.
Nadal holds the record for most Grand Slam titles won in men’s singles (22).
