British tennis player Andy Murray defeated Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round match of the Australian Open.

The meeting lasted 5 hours 45 minutes and ended with a score of 4:6, 6:7 (4:7), 7:6 (7:5), 6:3, 7:5 in favor of Murray. This game almost became the longest in the history of the tournament. In the longest match of the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in the final game in 2012 – 5:7, 6:4, 6:2, 6:7 (5:7), 7:5. The match then lasted 5 hours and 53 minutes.

Murray has 10 aces, three double faults and five realized break points out of 22.

Murray’s next opponent will be Roberto Bautista-Agut of Spain.
