“Absolutely not surprised” – Kafelnikov on the defeat of Medvedev

Two-time Grand Slam champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov said he was not surprised by the defeat of Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev from American Sebastian Korda in the third round of the Australian Open.

– Absolutely not surprised. I predicted that there would be a struggle in this match. Even before the tournament, he said that perhaps the game with Korda would be the most difficult – and it happened. Opponents learn – there’s nothing you can do.

Nobody stands still. The aura that surrounded Medvedev two years ago, when the opponents did not understand how to beat him, is gone now. They are all sure that they have a chance to beat Daniel. It will be even more difficult for Medvedev to hold his positions. Unfortunately, his game has become predictable for opponents. Something needs to be changed,” Kafelnikov told the “Championship”.

In the next round, Korda will face Pole Hubert Hurkacz.
