Djokovic on his injury: “It’s not going well at all”
Regarding his injury after the match with Cuaco, Novak Djokovic said that he was not feeling well at all, but he would endure it day by day.
Novak Djokovic cleared Cuaco’s hurdle to advance to the third round of the Australian Open. However, the Serbian tennis player suffered from hamstring discomfort and even withdrew to the dressing room for a while for help.
In his interview immediately after the game, “Nole” said that he was not doing well with his injury and that he was watching it, but he suffered more in the second round.
What Djokovic said in detail after the match: “CTo be honest, it’s not going well at all. I watch it every day. I felt better in the last game than today. That’s all I can say now. It’s up to God to help me and the physical therapists. We’re going from day to day and hopefully I’m ready for the next tough games».
On the difficult conditions in the game against Cuaco with the injury and the spectators: “Everything was done today. I would have liked to have finished it in three sets but Cuaco did a good job because he played good tennis. There were some interesting conditions that we faced but it’s a Grand Slam, night games, it can be intense for the players. We have to accept it and get as much out of it as we can.”.
How difficult it is to find winners at this year’s event: “Balls are slower than my last game, I think some players are complaining. I’m not complaining, just commenting. The conditions don’t help to try winners, especially against an athlete as good as Enzo, who defends amazingly. I faced everything I encountered, the good start in the fourth set helped.”
