Tsitsipas: Shiner his next opponent at the Australian Open
Yannick Siner (No. 16) made his comeback against Fuksovic despite losing 2-0 and will be Stefanos Tsitsipas’ opponent in the fourth round of the Australian Open.
We saw another dramatic match at the Australian Open. Fuksovic took a 2-0 lead, but Yannick Siner caused the surprise and met Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth round.
The Italian (No.16) confirmed the title of favorite and will stand in Steph’s way for the sixth time. In the past five games, Tsitsipas has four wins and his 21-year-old opponent has one.
The impressive thing is that of their five matches, four have been played on clay and only one on hard ground, and indeed it was at last year’s Australian Open that Tsitsipas prevailed.
Before the Hungarian, Sinner had eliminated Kyle Enmund (No. 581) and Tomas Etcheveri (No. 79) without dropping a set to get in the way of the Greek tennis player.
The match between the two athletes will take place on Sunday (01/22) and further details on the time will be announced on Saturday.
