Stefanos Tsitsipas won a 3-2 set against Shiner after almost four hours of duel and advanced to the “8” of the Australian Open where he will meet Jiri Lehetska.

Stefanos Tsitsipas qualified for the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, beating Shiner 3-2 after a fight that lasted about 4 hours.

There he meets Jiri Lehetska (No. 71) on Tuesday (January 24th), who previously won a 3-1 set against Felix Ozer Aliasim and continued his wild run.


The match: The match started perfectly for Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek tennis player went into the match with a break and then erased four break points to hold at love for 2-0.

Shiner kept pressing, looking for a way to even the set. This finally happened in the eighth game but Stefanos Tsitsipas’ reaction was immediate.

With a breakback he regained the upper hand in the set and then stormed to the 1-0 set with 6:4.

The second set also started with a break for Tsitsipas, but this time Shiner reacted immediately and then held his serve for a 3-2 lead.

But the sequel developed carbon with the first set. Stefanos Tsitsipas made the decisive break again in the ninth game and then held his serve to make it 6: 4, which marked the 2: 0 in the sets.


In the third set, Yannick Siner broke in the fourth game, which turned out to be decisive as he was no longer threatened after that and was 6-3 at 2-1.

It was also the first set Stefanos Tsitsipas lost in the tournament after winning 3-0 in the previous three matches.


The fourth movement had a similar picture to the third. This time, Shiner broke in the third game and then easily held at 6-4 to send the match into the fifth set.

In the fifth set, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Yannick Siner gave it their all. But the one who grinned in the end was the 24-year-old Greek, who took a clear lead with a break in the sixth game and regained it with a win.
