Tsitsipas: Lehetska next opponent of Stefanos in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open
Jiri Lehetska won a 3-1 set against Felix Ozer Aliasim and meets Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open on Tuesday (24 January).
Jiri Lehetska’s stunning run at the Australian Open continues and he will be Tsitsipas’ next opponent when the two meet in the quarter-finals on Tuesday (24/01).
The 21-year-old Czech, ranked No. 71 in the world, added another outstanding performance 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(2), 7-6(3) via Felix Auxer Aliasim (No. 7).
This is also Lehecka’s best run at a Grand Slam, having never made it past the first round in any of the four major tournaments.
In his run so far in the tournament he has had big wins. In the first round he threw Coric out and even 3-0. This was followed by his 3-1 wins over Eubanks, the 5-set match against Nori and of course his match against Aliasim.
Tsitsipas and Lehetska have met the 24-year-old Greek before, winning the semifinals in Rotterdam 2-1 and even causing an upset.
