Australian Open: Azarenka defeated Zou in a dramatic match
Victoria Azarenka has reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the first time in seven years after a bitter battle with Lin Zhu, whom she defeated 2-1.
The last game on Sunday (January 22) for the Australian Open ended in the early hours of Monday (Australian time) with Azarenka beating Lin Zhu 2-1.
The match had many twists and turns and lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes. Zou won the first set 6:4, Azarenka answered 6:1 and everything was decided in the third set.
To see an athlete hold her serve, we had to get to game seven, with Zou successfully leading 4-3.
Azarenka didn’t give up and needed the next three games to achieve the big win that puts her in Jessica Pegula’s path.
