“It was not Rublev who lost, but Djokovic who won” – Chesnokov
Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev is not to blame for the departure from the Australian Open, Serbian Novak Djokovic showed an unearthly game in the quarterfinals, according to the 1989 Roland Garros semi-finalist Andrey Chesnokov.
The meeting ended with the score 6:1, 6:2, 6:4 in favor of Djokovic.
– Djokovic plays incredible tennis – this is an incredible level! I do not understand how it is possible to demonstrate such a level of play on an ongoing basis. Heavenly game! But I still want to praise Rublev: Andrey is a great fellow! Quarter-finals at the Australian Open is a great result. Djokovic is simply unrealistic to fight. It was not Rublev who lost, but Djokovic who won. Andrey is not to blame for today’s departure, – Chesnokov told the “Championship”.
The next opponent of the ex-first racket of the world at the Australian Open will be the American Tommy Paul, who occupies the 35th place in the ranking.
