Chesnokov proposed to include Rublev’s winning shot in the match against Rune in the textbook
1989 Roland Garros semi-finalist Andrei Chesnokov believes that Andrei Rublev’s victory over Dane Holger Rune in the fourth round game of the Australian Open should be included in the textbook.
In a four-hour match, the Russian beat Dane Holger Rune – 6:3, 3:6, 6:3, 4:6, 7:6 (9:7). Rublev won the last point, having accepted the opponent’s serve right through with the help of a cable.
– We need to take a tennis textbook and write a chapter there: “How to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.” Rublev competed with this Rune there, for four hours they ran, butted heads, and then one miracle blow, the “deadly snot” decided everything. This stroke should be included in the tennis textbook. “Russian tennis and miracle strikes” – such a name should be, – Chesnokov told Gazeta.Ru.
Rublev in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open lost in three games to Serb Novak Djokovic – 1:6, 2:6, 4:6.
