Rybakina reached the final of the Australian Open for the first time in her career
Tennis player Yelena Rybakina, representing Kazakhstan, made it to the final of the Australian Open for the first time in her career.
Rybakina, who received the 22nd seed, beat the 24th seeded Belarusian Victoria Azarenka. The meeting lasted 1 hour 41 minutes and ended with the score 7:6 (7:4), 6:3.
For the trophy, a native of Moscow will compete with the winner of the match Arina Sobolenko (Belarus, 5th seed) – Magda Linett (Poland). Previously, 23-year-old Rybakina, the winner of Wimbledon 2022, did not go beyond the third round at the Australian Grand Slam tournament.
