Contaveit equalized Ostapenko and is waiting for Sakkari or Sviodek in the final
Annette Contaveit confirmed her excellent form, beating Ostapenko 2-0 and reaching the final in Doha, where she will face Maria Sakkari or Iga Sviodek.
Annette Condaveit’s name is on the first ticket for the final of the Doha tournament. The number 7 in the world rankings confirmed the favorite title against Ostapenko with a 2-0 set.
The first of these does not require much criticism. Contaveit did what he wanted against Latvia, who made many easy mistakes and found no reaction to Estonian domination. Somehow the 6:1 came about quite normally.
In the second set we had a bigger fight and Ostapenko struggled to get back into the match without a result as Condaveit is in excellent shape.
Now Estonia is waiting for the winner of Sakkari’s pairing with Sviedek to find out his opponent in the final on Saturday (02/26).
