Chesnokov: “Stefanos is a player of another level. Djokovic will have a hard time in the final
Russian Karen Khachanov had a good match in the semi-finals of the Australian Open, but the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas is a player of a different level, according to former Russian tennis player Andrey Chesnokov.
Khachanov lost to Tsitsipas with a score of 6:7 (2:7), 4:6, 7:6 (8:6), 3:6.

Stefanos is still a player of a different level, who is now showing his maximum of the AO final. With such pressure, it will be very difficult for Djokovic to play in the final. Karen did not keep up with the mobility of Tsitsipas, he felt the heaviness in Khachanov’s jerks.

Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.
Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.
Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.
Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.

Russian Karen Khachanov moved from 18th to 17th place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.
The best among Russians remains Daniil Medvedev, located in 13th place, Andrei Rublev is 16th. There have been no changes in the top ten rankings: Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is in the lead, Italian Jannik Sinner is second, and German representative Alexander Zverev is in third.
