The Australian Open has a new queen. Arina Sabalenka won a reversal 2:1 set against Jelena Rybakina and celebrated the first Grand Slam of her career.

The world No. 2 took almost all the big points of the final after the first set and deservedly took the title.

The match: From the start we expected a big game and it was confirmed. Yelena Rybakina broke in the third game of the match and then held to take a 3-1 lead.

Sabalenka responded with the same coin to level the set at 4-4. But Rybakina responded with a breakback and then held to close the first set 6-4.


In the second set, practically everything was decided in the fourth and fifth game. Sambalenka broke in the fourth quarter, Rybakina had her chance to hit back right after.

However, the 24-year-old Belarusian managed to withstand the pressure to take a 4-1 lead, then simply held at serve to finish the second set 6-3.


In the third set, Sabalenka handed a break again. This time she took a 4-3 lead in the seventh game and then held her serve to make it 5-3.

Rybakina tried to win back the break, she had her chance in the tenth game, but Sabalenka persevered and closed the final 6-4 for the fourth championship point.
