The unique performances Tsitsipas and Djokovic put in their way to the finals

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic will face off at the Australian Open and Sportish has summarized all their great performances heading to the final.

The countdown to the grand final of the Australian Open is in its final phase. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic meet there on Sunday morning (January 29, 10:30 a.m., Eurosport 1, LIVE Sportish).

The world No. 4 and world No. 5 are expected to put up a big fight and Data is highly motivated to reach the top.

Eventually, both chase enough success to make this final a part of the history of the sport. But on the way to the final they have already achieved a lot.

The great achievements of Tsitsipas

During his career, Stefanos Tsitsipas managed to achieve some historic feats that even the Big 4 failed to equal.

It might sound unbelievable, but he did it. Steph became only the fourth player in the Open Era to reach 6/6 in the Grand Slam quarterfinals. The previous three were Rod Laver, Patrick Rafter and Andre Agassi.

He has also witnessed two other major performances from Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. Stefanos Tsitsipas was the youngest after the great Swiss to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open three years in a row. Roger Federer did it in the three years 2004-2006.

At the same time, Stefanos Tsitsipas became the youngest to reach the final of the inaugural Grand Slam since Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, who were 24 years old when they faced each other in 2011.

At the same time, however, he also broke with a negative tradition he had had since the three previous interruptions in his course in the semifinals. If he were ruled out now, he would equal Andy Roddick’s negative record.

Djokovic continues to make history

Now we come to Novak Djokovic who is sure that as long as he competes he will simply set new records and excellence.

Nole is only the third tennis player to reach the Australian Open final after losing twenty games or fewer. The previous successful ones were Ivan Lendl (1990) and Andre Agassi (2003).

At the same time, he also became the fourth-oldest tennis player to reach the final of the Australian Open, after Ken Roswall, Mal Anderson and Roger Federer.

His impressive run that year added to what he had in previous years (save last year when he did not compete), breaking the all-time record for consecutive wins at the Australian Open.

Novak Djokovic now has 27 straight main draw wins, more than anyone in the Open Era, and broke Andre Agassi’s record of 26.

All of these are some of the things that the two tennis players achieved over the course of the Australian Open before meeting in the final.

Of course, after their big match, both can write further awards on their jerseys, which we will analyze after the final.
