Norrie beats Tsitsipas to advance to final
(Acapulco) Briton Cameron Norrie (12and world) qualified Friday for the final of the ATP tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, by winning in two sets against the favorite and world No.4, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, 6-4 6-4.
Norrie (26), who is looking for her 4and title on the circuit, will face Saturday in the final the winner of the half disputed between the Spaniard Rafael Nadal and the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who will take on the costume of the new world N.1 in tennis on Monday.
In both sets, Norrie scored the break to lead 5-4 and hold on to victory, despite the Mexican public’s support for his opponent.
